[ ain't it magical what a little life soup can do for injuries? though, his hand will probably still have dried blood on it. he stands up and holds his hand out to her, holding the cube in his other hand ]

[Magical life soup is super helpeful.]

[She's...not surprised by blood, but at least it's dried. '-']

[Taking his hand. Let's head over to the pumpkin pool!]

[ blood seems to be a common thing around here. leading her over there ]

Do you want to climb in like this?

[She shrugged and pulling off her clothes.] Probably shouldn't get the clothes wet.

[HEY.]

[GUESS WHO ELSE DOESN'T GET THE BIG DEAL ABOUT CLOTHES?]

[The girl who grew up the species who didn't wear pants.]

[ WELP. guess we're both stripping down, since she's on board with the party. once he's stripped down, he'll be climbing down into the pool first and looking at her to join in ]

[Best party.]

[She's gonna jump in! Yay, water.]

[ pretty much! once in there, he's going to relax, letting out a long sigh. this has about as great of vibes at the life elixir for him. in this state of clarity, he'll be able to focus on the hopes he has. he's going to try to tap his powers to help with this. destruction can cause creation, right? the counterbalance he's been learning in this heart has been helping him focus more on that power. that one side isn't always bad, just "misunderstood."

what he wants is to tear down that anxiety-- maybe not even with her, but within himself-- about friendship. maybe even if he cannot sort those feelings out now, at least he can try to overcome one of the stops. he reminds himself of the things he's learned, the lengths he's been willing to go for her and what she's done for him in return. balance. counterbalance. growth. joy. pain. in this short while of knowing her, he's built his own strong base in what could be considered a friendship and he's going to will those feelings into helping try to destroy that barrier between them and forge something new with her.

it's probable that she's the first person here he can consider a "friend"-- the person he knows the best now, and he hopes that she will be able to know him, too. even if he doesn't have much to offer, as he grows and learns and regains, he hopes he can share that with her. the good. the bad.

he banks on the future promise of telling her about this. the promise of swimming together-- not just together, but with other "friends."

he'll try to tear at that feeling that's trying to hold back from growing that bond, pushing through it. hoping for something more out of destroying that ]

[It's certainly a new experience for Roxy. Usually swimming was just a thing that she had to do sometimes. It was hard to be excited for water when you grew up on ocean and it just meant desolation. So swimming now was a whole new experience.]

[It felt like life and joy and freedom in a whole new way. Perhaps she'd be able to articulate it when she woke up, but for now, it just felt GOOD.]

[She watches Haru curiously though, seeing what happens.]

[The fireflies are attracted as he tries to focus on those feelings, hovering around him and the cube.]

[ with his eyes closed, he doesn't even notice them migrating over, just focusing on all these potentials they had together. this bond that could possibly be a thing. a thing he wants. instead of just being a promise to help, he genuinely wants this. after all he's shared. it's something that is important. and he can understand things. not just about himself, but about some of those around him. on his team, those from home. and what some of these memories specifically mean to Roxy. and he wants to cultivate that. even with the possible frustrations, the potential pain... he doesn't want it to just stop here ]

[....you are unfairly cute, Cascade.]

[More and more fireflies gathering, landing on the cube, making it glow in his hands as he focuses on those feelings, gathering together, gathering power.]

[ he's like a dumb little puppy trying to lean what his feet are and not stumble around. that's what this emotional exploration is equivalent to, to be honest.

but as he feels that power gathering, he'll open his eyes and be awestruck at that sight, something in his heart swelling. that warm feeling from his heart spreading, but he doesn't lose those thoughts that's he's trying to grasp.

and he repeats to himself what Doom said, "I think you'll be good for me." even if he didn't hear it from her voice, the text was still real. it was there. it helped pull him forward. maybe he'll be able to tell her some day, "You're good for me, too." ]

[The fireflies brighten, more and more, until finally there's a flash, and the cube changes colors, now a bright, clear blue, looking almost like water inside a box.]

[Hope reaches over to touch his shoulder, giving him a bright smile.]

[ draws his eyes away from that box and gives her a hint of a smile, his heart tightening a bit with this good feeling, feeling a bit flustered from it. he shifts so that he's no longer just floating and holds the box out toward her ]

[She takes the box carefully, holding it close.]

This is a really good base.

[She looks at the cube, her smile fond.] It's full of a lot of conviction and strong feels. But it's also got a lot of hope for the future too.

[ nods to her thanks, a silent "you're welcome," since "it was nothing" feels inappropriate after all that ]

You'll have a lot to build with.

[She nods.] I will.

[She looks up and grins widely.] I bet I'll be able to greet ya really cheerfully next time. A real one. It's a lot easier to find those reasons to smile with help like this.

But you also can greet me without a smile. If that time comes. I'll still be there.

[ but, then softer, a little happier ]

It's good you'll be able to smile, though.

[She nods.] I know.

But, it's pretty hard for me. To not smile when it's meeting a friend.

Plus I'm pretty sure I've made a bunch of promises for a swim date.

I'll remind you of that.

[ then pauses ]

Before... I met Doom and Rage, I told you that I'd tell you what happened in here. Do you think I should share it all? Everything I experienced? I'm willing to, if you want me to tell you what happened.

[She's quiet for several moments.]

Yeah, ya probably should.

I'm kind of an info monger. If it involves me, I'd want to know everything that happened. I'm more likely to assume the worst anyway without knowing.

Then I'll tell you. I'll give you some time after this, since I'm sure this will... be a lot for you to take in. Do you think it'd be best for me to come find you or wait until I see you around?

[Considers.] When you see me around.

I usually need some time alone to sort out my own emotions. At least, that's what I'm used to, and this is gonna be a hell of a work over when I wake up.

But eventually, I'll find ya. Info monger and all. Just seeing ya once would probs tell me something happened with you.

I'll wait, then. I might need some time to recover, too.

...But you helped a lot along the way. So it won't be so hard.

[Nods.] And you'll have people with you. Sakura and....there's....

Ah, Rook, and Technic too? Well, Technic can be kinda dumb, depends on the day, but Rook is p awesome at the support thing. And there's someone else from your world too, in Kyriakos?

So you won't have to be alone for it either, if you do better with people.
