These are very weird sciences that are pretty much just relevant to Homestuck! The wikis for Ectobiology and Fenestration Planes.
Ectobiology: Does include understanding of how biology and genetics work. Ectobiology involves using time paradoxes and cloning. One tries to Appearify an organism that has a designated fate that it has yet to fulfill. Instead of obtaining the creature, a Green Paradox Ghost Imprint is obtained and it just collapses into green goo. The goo has a copy of DNA and can be used for cloning, mutations, and breeding by modifying the genes present in available slime. There is a specialization in how to do mutations and cats. In particular how to make a single male into a female and still be viable for breeding.
Dark Fenestrology: The science of, more or less, how to connect two points together through the void. For Roxy, this is usually used with a device that looks like a window with one pane being divided into four, and the second pane a large, solid one. These devices must be made in pairs and they will always be in parallel with each other. Even if the windows change location in normal existence, within the void they are ALWAYS a straight shot to each other. Of course direction means shit all in the void, so it's hard to say HOW they're orientated, but to the person going through, they seem to be right above each other. Always. Whatever window a person enters, they are always 'falling.'
While outside, the transportation appears instant, there is always the feeling of time passing in the void. The larger the distance in normal existence, farther the distance in the void, but it's always far shorter. A several day travel is only minutes void time. Roxy knows the theory of Fourth Wall breaking fenestration walls, which can go between timelines, but does not know how to make those kind of planes herself.
Dark Fenestrology will be weird for people who don't get the Void since it involves an instinctive grasp of how the void works. There will be a lot of numbers that don't really make sense with most normal math which all somehow makes sense and NO SENSE AT ALL at the same time.
