Totally, although in their defense, love stuff could be complicated and confusing.....especially for the knight, who had been too busy with her duties to really think about it before.

Totes understandable and the rogue herself never had much luck in love, so she was kinda gunshy herself.

Still, one day, the knight got a piece of paper and managed to write a letter to the rogue about her feelings, because she was tired of being confused and also didn't think she'd be any good at doing the same thing with the spoken word.

And the knight sent the letter....

But then she heard that someone had kidnapped the messenger!

[HOW MEAN]

Ahh.....so of course the knight jumped on her horse and rode off to save them, forgetting in her panic to tell the rogue where she was going....because the knight could be silly like that sometimes.

[Story needs drama!]

It was very silly of the knight, but the rogue was quite used to that, and really, who else would you said to rescue a kidnapped person besides a stealth expert?

All very true......the knight was no good a stealth herself, though, and got captured as well.....but she wasn't afraid, because she trusted the rogue to find her somehow and help.

The rogue was very unsurprised by these turn of events, may even scold the knight later to let her scout things, it's what she does, but for now she had to make a plan of rescue without the bad guys bein' none the wiser.

Luckily, the bad guys hadn't read the letter yet, which they had assumed to be important top secret war plans, so there was time for the rogue to figure out a way into their hidden castle before they dealt with the knight.

She soon found a way into the castle and where the prisoners were kept, but then she had another problem, how to get them both OUT without being noticed, and eventually she figured out what she needed was a distraction!

Meanwhile, the knight was working on how to break herself and the messenger loose from their bindings - they shared a cell, you see - when the moment of escape came, and realized the chains were very rusty, even brittle.....they would break easily with the right application of force.

Finally the rogue had something set up, and she could finally break in to get to the knight and the messenger, though she had to be quick, as the distraction would have a time table, but first after some careful climbing, and a few ninjs secrets, she was able to reach the door to the prison!

The knight heard her reach the door, or more like sensed it - because they were close friends attuned to each other and not because the rogue wasn't being sneaky enough - and looped her chains over an iron hook set in the wall of the cell, first twisting and then putting all her weight onto them until they broke.

The Rogue opened the door as the chains broke and offered the knight an amused grin, "of course you would know when I'm here," she commented and came over to undo the lock of the cell so they could make their escape properly, but not without first hugging the knight because she was worried.

The knight hugged her back, still wearing the manacles but otherwise free, and replied "Of course I did, just like I knew you'd come," as the messenger also broke their chains using the same trick.

"Of course," the rogue said, "but we will have to hurry, the distraction will only work so lon-" and on the other side of the castle was a loud BOOM, followed by several others that sounded an awful like fireworks, because sometimes the best stealth is being loud where you're not.

The messenger was shocked and startled, but the knight wasn't, only saying "You'll have to tell me later how you did that.....but for now let's get out of here!" before running out of the cell, going first since she was the strongest and could best deal with any guards they couldn't avoid.

"Maybe if you ask supes nicely," the rogue said with a cheeky grin, bringing up the rear since really, that poor messenger is just a civilian, but she'd give directions on the safest path out.

"Don't I always ask super nicely?" was the joking reply as she navigated through the castle based on those directions, only having to knock out a stray and unsuspecting guard maybe once or twice.

They finally got out of the castle, and finally made it into the woods, and seemed to almost be in the clear, when the messenger made a horrible realization, "what about the letters?!"

The knight paused, looking uncertainly to the rogue, no longer caring about the letter that had started this mess but realizing there was more at stake than that.

"Oh, that would be a problem," the rogue admitted, "but really getting the letters compared to you guys were child's play, even had time to skim 'em to be sure they were what I needed to get," she said oh so nonchalantly.

Of course, of course the rogue had managed that, and it was all well and good that she had, but the knight just blushed and turned away a little, muttering something about keeping an eye on their tails and oh, gosh, shouldn't they really get a move on?

The rogue kept a cool facade, which was really hard 'cause the knight was being supes cute, but safety first!

The rogue was always better at being all cool and calm, it was true, unlike the knight who couldn't look anyone in the eyes all the way back to the kingdom.
