[She raises an eyebrow. Eats the rest of the snowcone. Then makes motions because easier to talk like Carapacians.]

Divination's never been a specialty of mine... but if I had to guess... something to do with being just about the last person on earth and also there being other people to feed?

[There is a total imbalance in food. As in there is absolutely no possible way to fish enough to feed the millions of Carapacians on this island. But there is balance in the pumpkins because Roxy knows you can't just keep porting them in without draining her source dry.]

[It may also be easier to notice that Roxy is very much skin and bones right now. At least by the time she went into Kyriakos, she had about half a year of Jane helping her gain weight.]

[There's a sad look on her face and she's moving to hide behind the telescope again.]

You scoff now, but it's totally true.

Someday in the future, you're going to hang out with friends. Really close friends, who you'll like a lot.

Also, eventually, we'll hang out and get to be super good... friends. So you'll have a close friend who's a wizard, too.

So, even if it's bad, there's something to look forward to. There always is.

[Silence from the telescope.]

You don't have to believe me... but 'this too shall pass' is a really great set of magic words for whenever you're feeling overwhelmed or upset.

I don't think I made my first real friend until high school, and my thing was being lonely all the time... so...

I can't really say.

But I can say it'll definitely pass eventually.

[She peaks out again.]

They're not starving right now, either.

[To be honest he has no clue what happened to them outside of being 90% certain they died at some point. But this is a child so we're going to be nice.]
